Cannot interact with canvas when widgets are active

I’m not sure if this is intended or a bug, but my workflow often involves having a split screen with a document (pdf or lecture keynote) open on one side while I take notes on the other. Currently, opening a pdf widget (or any other widget) brings it to the front and I can no longer interact with the canvas unless I hide the widget which kinda defeats the purpose. To recreate my workflow I can open a binder and put the documents there but widgets are so much easier as it’s pinned on the screen not the canvas. I hope it can be possible to recognize which layer the user is interacting, either the canvas layer or the widget layer so I can have widgets open and still move around in canvas. Maybe a feature to drop the widget into the canvas as a binder can be nice as well!
