Click off task

When I’m using the pen or using another tool and I select the color I want I think it would be amazing if we can click off screen to close the tab instead of being forced to click on the pen icon again. This is applicable for every click option so when I want to close a task or close an icon I clicked I would like to just click off screen to close it rather than clicking on the icon again
